Rosemary Fox Hess was born in El Reno, OK to John W. Fox and Gertrude Shupbach Fox on April 24, 1919. She attended Sacred Heart School, Hockaday School - Dallas and graduated in the 1937 Class of El Reno High School. She then graduated from Ward Belmont J.C., Nashville, TN and then from the University of Oklahoma, where she was a Kappa Alpha Theta. A month after graduating she married the love of her life, 2nd Lt., Otto O. Hess, Jr. and became an Army wife at Fort Sill, OK. When stationed in San Antonio, TX she received her Red Cross Volunteer Nurses Aid training at Robert Green Hospital. While Otto served in the China, India and Burmese Theatre during WWII she served at Fort Reno Hospital and worked at Balliets. Rosie loved watching golf on T.V. and learned to play on the sand greens at the El Reno Country Club. Rosemary and Otto were married for 74 years at the time her “Dear Otto” passed away in 2015. The couple simply “agreed” to treat each other with the utmost kindness and unconditional love and were a wonderful testament to marriage and God’s love for each other. It was a glorious day in Heaven when the two reunited. Two sons predeceased Rosie, Richard and Kevin along with her brother John Fox, Sr. and sisters Betty Fox, Donna Modrall and Sara Zadik. Rosie is survived by one son, Patrick and Grandson Bryan, Granddaughter Tiffany Wilson, three beloved nieces, two nephews and six great grandchildren Rosie always had a kind word for anyone who crossed her path. We will miss our beloved Rosie. She had many relatives and friends who loved and cared for her throughout her life. Rosie lived life as it is meant to be lived, “to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to make some difference in the world, that you have lived and lived well.” Memorials can made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in El Reno Oklahoma.
