Marion Clifford "Cliff" Sturdivant

April 22, 1939 - June 13, 2018

Cliff Sturdivant passed away June 13, 2018 in El Reno. He was born April 22, 1939 in Vernon, TX. Cliff moved to El Reno as a baby and graduated from El Reno High School. He joined the U.S. Navy, where he was an electrician. His family was stationed in Charleston, SC, Norfolk, VA, and Spain. After 20 years of service, Cliff retired and moved his family back to El Reno. On his return, he attended El Reno Jr. College where he received an Associate Degree and worked for the El Reno Tribune as the Circulation Manager for 14 years. Cliff loved reading, hunting, and fishing and was a member of a skeet and trap team. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mabel Sturdivant; biological parents, El and Earlene Aston; brothers, Earl and Eddie Aston; and sister, Evelyn Shultz. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Delpha Sturdivant of the home; children, Delpha Miklautsch and husband Daniel of El Reno, Jon Sturdivant and wife Linda Kay of El Reno, and Linda Mindeman and husband Jeff of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Nathan Funk and wife Diane, Jessica Sturdivant, Cecilia Crawford, Natalie Cleary and husband Ryan, Nicole Sturdivant, Jessica Nolan, and Tierney Mulchey; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Ellen Smith and husband Billy of Kalamazoo, MI and Elaine Wells and husband Rambo of Amarillo, TX; brother, Everett Aston of Amarillo, TX; and other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Sara Road Baptist Church in Yukon. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Sara Road Baptist Church, 2015 N. Sarah Ln, Yukon, OK. Cremation is under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
