Lois Jean Morgosh

May 26, 1931 - May 29, 2018

Lois Jean Morgosh It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Jean Morgosh announces her passing on May 29th. Born May 26th, 1931 in Oklahoma to Hugh B. and Lillian Nelle Flippen, she attended the University of Oklahoma where she met and married her beloved husband, Ray Morgosh. In the following years, she followed Ray to New York, then New Jersey, then Ohio, and finally California, as they raised their three children—Scott, Lisa, and Tami. She lived in the city of Orange for 44 years, working administratively at the Orange Unified School District for the majority of that time. Lois enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baseball, especially baseball. But her love for these activities paled in comparison to her love for her family. Whether it was cooking an incomparable lemon meringue for Christmas or driving to watch one of her four grandkids play baseball, Lois invested every ounce of her energy into the people around her. She is one of whom it may genuinely be said, “She put others first.” Even in her later years as she faced the sorrow of several close family members’ passing, her joy for life and warm kindness were not diminished. She spoke on the phone to all of her family members regularly and to her children nightly. If Lois had a trademark word, it certainly would have been “wonderful,” a word which reflected her steadfast hopefulness and genuine enthusiasm for other’s good fortune. Lois lived her life in a state of continuous wonderment, and regularly gave thanks and sought council from her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She is survived by her sister Shirley, brother Floyd, son Scott, daughter Tami, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is predeceased by her husband Ray, daughter Lisa, and brother Bruce. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. in the El Reno Cemetery in El Reno, OK. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
