Carol Lee Hardwick

February 14, 1931 - February 14, 2018

Carol Lee Hardwick passed away Feb. 14, 2018 at his home in El Reno. He was born Feb. 14, 1931 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to Fern and W.H. Hardwick. Carol married Hazel Rainey on Feb. 8, 1949. He worked and retired from the El Reno Federal Reformatory and worked for 10 years at Hensley’s. Carol was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hazel Dean King; and brother, Rev. W.H. (Bud) Hardwick. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Hazel Hardwick of the home; siblings, Eli Hardwick of Indiana, George Hardwick of North Carolina, Rev. Thomas Hardwick of Illinois, Betty Reiter of El Reno, and Janice Taylor of El Reno; daughters, Cynthia Patterson and son-in-law, Barry Patterson of El Reno and Susan Beardslee and son-in-law, Gary Beardslee of El Reno; grandchildren, Clay Wise of OKC, Angie (Buckles) Gladden and spouse Lane Gladden, Ashlie Wise-Blair and spouse Shawn Blair; great grandchildren, Paige Gladden, Madison Gladden, Jarom Gladden, Ian Gladden, Derek Blair, and Lacie Blair; and other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 from 2-8pm and Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 from 8am to 2pm at Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at El Reno Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
