Billie Ralph Peters

June 17, 1933 - May 9, 2021

Billie R Peters was born to William and Elise Peters on June 17, 1933 in Okarche, Oklahoma and was the youngest of 4 children. He passed away on May 9, 2021 with his family by his side. Billie married Frances Huggins in 1954 and together they had 6 children. In December of 1964 Billie married Ruth Yelton and welcomed two more children into the home. Billie and Ruth enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage! Billie was a surveyor in the US Army before he moved on to surveying for the Rock Island Railroad. Billie was a big-hearted, honest, trusting man with a strong moral compass. He always loved working with his hands and started his own cabinet shop where he worked for many years. Billie eventually transitioned to commercial truck driving until he retired in 1998. However, retirement for Billie meant working around his home and on his acreage which he loved! He was a hard worker and always had multiple projects under way. Billie loved his church and was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in El Reno all his adult life. Billie was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He is survived by his brother, Gilferd Peters; 7 children: Danny Yelton, Michael Peters, Deborah Hixon, Karen Isenberg, Mark Peters, Mitchell Peters and Donna Stringer; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Peters; parents William and Elise Peters; his sister Lorna Graumann; his brother Wilfred Peters; his daughter Diane Hisao; and two great grandchildren, Aiden and Elijah Guerrero. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in El Reno, Oklahoma. A funeral service for Billie will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church (500 S Country Club Rd El Reno, OK 73036). Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery. Come and go viewing will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, May 12 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 13 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
